The Mirror's Reflection

Emily's grandmother left her an antique mirror in her will. As Emily hung it in her bedroom, she noticed something strange - her reflection didn't quite match her movements.

At first, it was subtle. Her reflection's smile would lag behind hers, or its eyes would blink when hers didn't. But soon, the discrepancies grew more pronounced.

One night, Emily woke to find her reflection standing beside her bed, watching her. Its eyes were black as coal, and its smile was twisted.

Emily tried to scream, but her voice was trapped in her throat. The reflection began to whisper her name, its voice a low, raspy hiss.

As Emily watched in horror, her reflection's face began to distort, stretching like wax. It leaned in, its breath cold and rank.

When the police found Emily, she was catatonic, her eyes wide with terror. The mirror lay shattered on the floor, but one piece remained intact.

In the reflection, a twisted smile seemed to linger.
