THE WIFI MONK
Once upon a time in a remote Himalayan village, a young man named Raj gave up city life to seek inner peace. He found a monastery famed for its serene silence, wise monks, and most importantly—its rumored super-fast Wi-Fi. Upon arrival, he asked the head monk, "Is it true you have the best Wi-Fi in the Himalayas?" The monk smiled. “Yes. But it only works when you're truly present.” Raj thought it was a metaphor. But he soon noticed—when he was distracted, the signal dropped. When he scrolled endlessly, the connection froze. But when he meditated, reflected, or simply watched the clouds... full bars. Weeks passed. Raj became calm, focused, and mindful—not for enlightenment, but for better internet. Until one day, he forgot about his phone entirely. The Wi-Fi? Still full bars. He turned to the monk in awe. “Is the Wi-Fi even real?”
The monk sipped his tea. “Was it ever about the Wi-Fi?”
Moral: Sometimes, what draws us in is just bait—but if we stay, we might catch a deeper signal.
