A Mother's Last Note
Ravi was a successful software engineer in a big city, far from his hometown. He rarely visited his mother, always busy chasing promotions and deadlines. Every day, his mother would call and ask, "Did you eat?" He’d often reply hurriedly, “Yes, Ma. I’m busy, will call you later.”
One day, after many missed calls, he finally returned home. But it was too late. His mother had passed away in her sleep. On the dining table, he found a lunchbox with his name on it. Inside was his favorite food, neatly packed — just like she used to make when he was a child.
A note inside read: “In case you come home today, I didn’t want you to stay hungry.”
He wept, realizing too late that she had always been waiting — not for his success, but just to see him, feed him, love him.
