The Poisoned Promise
In a quiet village surrounded by hills, lived two childhood friends—Rafiq and Imran. They were like brothers, sharing food, laughter, and dreams. Rafiq was kind-hearted and worked hard on his small farm. Imran, clever and ambitious, often complained about his slow progress in life.
One day, a wealthy merchant visited the village and announced he needed a trustworthy man to manage his expanding trade. Rafiq, with his honesty and work ethic, was the perfect choice. Imran, consumed by jealousy, couldn’t bear to see his friend succeed.
That night, Imran secretly planted stolen goods in Rafiq’s home and tipped off the village elders. Rafiq was accused of theft. Despite his pleas, no one believed him. He was thrown out of the village in shame.
Years passed. Imran took Rafiq’s position and rose in power. But his lies caught up with him. The merchant discovered the truth and banished Imran. Word spread, and the village lost trust in him.
Rafiq, meanwhile, started a new life in another town. His honesty won hearts, and he became a respected leader. One day, he returned to his old village—not for revenge, but to forgive.
Moral:
Betrayal may win for a moment, but truth stands forever. Trust, once broken, is the hardest thing to rebuild.
